Autumn

It's getting cold in the mountains and the dogwoods are turning pretty colors.

The colors are great. Here in New Zealand Spring is in full bloom. Flowers are sprouting from every crack in the driveway and it seems most every plant has to push out some sort of flower just to compete. It's been interesting to speak with my parent's who are currently traveling throughout New England to view the fall foliage. If it's not the flowers it's the leaves :-)

The dogwoods are beautiful trees. They get these great big white flowers in the spring and turn cool colors in the fall.

It must take a while for a Northern hemisphere transplant to acclimate to spring in October. Christmas at the beach is even weirder

Thankfully Christmas is not used as a retail outlet here as in the US. We did celebrate a Midwinter's Christmas in June - a typical British affair with Christmas crackers and all.
